Taking Our Baby Back to the Hospital

  1. I had a similar experience when I was a baby.
When I was just over a week old, I had a seizure. The doctors didn't know why, so they ran a bunch of tests. They didn't find anything out about the seizure, but they did figure out I had jaundice. I was in the hospital for a little bit more than a week I believe.
I hope my story helps you guys 💜

  2. My little preemie had to be on light treatment for a few weeks in the NICU. It was so hard only being able to hold him an hour a day. It isn't easy seeing your baby in the isolette like that.

  3. They are so lucky to have u guys as their parents because I’ve never met my dad my mum died last night and I lived with my nan since I was born I love u and everyone!

  4. What might help to feed his with a bottle i know it might be forcing but u put the bottle in his mouth and the part that’s in his mouth u squeeze and milk will come out it might help

  5. My oldest child had light therapy for his jaundice. That day was the best he ate / slept during his first month. I think there is something about the light and the sound inside the incubator that is very soothing for babies.

  6. Just went through jaundice with our son born 11.6 and this video made me cry all over. The lights really helped our little guy

  7. That brings back memories of when my daughter was in the Special Care Unit in Australia with jaundice. That was 23 yrs ago and we couldn't have them beside the bed like that in the particular hospital that I was in. So it was nice that you were able to be close to him in that regard.

  8. I'm studying to be a nurse ,i always watch your videos to relax . I'm so sorry you're going through this . you have an amazing family dynamic .. you are a beautiful family . I know you guys are going to get through this and be fine x

  9. I'm sorry that you all had to go through this, we spent the first 27 days or babies life in the NICU because he was a preemie but getting to take Luke home then having to bring him back must have been awful 🙁

  10. I might have missed this in another video so I apologise if I did but is anyone sure if Luke’s brain is okay or are they keeping that private for now?? Xxx

  11. Keep it up! I was put on that light when I was born too and now I am doing okay, and so will he! Sending all my positive energy, my best wishes and lots of love to y'all <3

  12. I know it had to have been hard to take your sweet boy back to the hospital. Glad his jaundice is under control. I will be praying for you and little Luke about the breastfeeding.

  13. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I am chronically and terminally ill… I basically live in the doctors office/hospital. I know this process is crazy, new, and scary but I want you to know that it is going to be okay. Even if your son needs some extra medical care, he will live a happy long life and has the most supportive and living parents in the world. You are doing everything you can, and when I gets older and rewatches these videos he will see and appreciate how lucky he is to have parents like you. Hang in there ❤️

  14. I feel bad for Bailey because she is the only girl I think they keep having kids because they are trying for a girl for Bailey but they keep getting boys

  15. As a teenager, I didn’t know what jaundice was before this video. I loved seeing this with my whole heart. I am so incredibly happy for little Luke and your family!!! I’ll send lots of prayers your way. Thanks for showing this educating journey!❤️

  16. I completely understand your emotions!!! My daughter was born 5weeks early on Oct 1st, and she was very very jaundice and was transferred to children’s almost immediately after birth. I know the feeling of just having to sit and watch your baby wear that little mask and lay there so still.. it broke my heart because i hadn’t got to hold her very much before and we could only take her out during feedings.. and her little skin got the bilirubin rash.. I understand your pain and have been praying for your baby Luke❤️❤️

  17. They make higher calorie formula for babies that have trouble putting on weight it may be best to start considering that option to help him espically if he starts back tracking and losing weight

  18. I had to go through almost the exact same thing. Only difference was that we didn’t get to take her home at all, they kept her even though we were discharged. A month later I still get teary-eyed looking at pictures and remembering her under those lights and not being able to hold her. We are all better now!

  19. I send my best wishes ❤️❤️ I know this last week has probably been pretty hard for you guys but your being such good parents ❤️❤️

  20. I am heartbroken for you guys and for little Luke. No baby or parents should have to go through any of these hardships but knowing your beautiful family I know you all are positive and strong and can get through anything. Much love sent to you all!

  21. Duncan is the cutest. Ever. Like how can one tiny human produce such big smiles!?

Also sending good thoughts to you and yours. I hope everything goes as best as possible for you and your family.

  22. I thought Duncan said “Mickey Mouse’s murderer” for a solid five seconds before I realized he said mother 🤦🏻‍♀️

  23. Please don't beat yourself up if you have to formula feed him. He needs to gain weight, and you stressing is going to hurt your production. Breast isn't best. The saying is awful. Fed, happy, and healthy is best. I have a feeling this little guy need formula badly, don't let the stigma behind formula allow you to neglect his needs.

  24. I have to say, as much as I do want kids in the future, I never quite understood when people got "baby fever" or anything like that.  Until I just watched a few of your videos.  Your kids make me feel the urge to be a mother like, now.  Your older kids are so sensitive and intelligent and a real joy to see/know(as well as you can from a video lol) and your littles are so precious and entertaining.  <3  My heart did flips when Duncan showed off his Goofy shirt, and when Jacob and Bailey talked about the new baby and the birth.  And of course Parker being his curly headed comedic self!  Gosh what great kids! You both are amazing parents!

  25. Luke looks very relaxed and comfortable! Imagine he's in a spa!

I miss the time my brothers were babies… I know they seem so fragile… I used to freak out when they started coughing because of a cookie… I can only imagine how you feel, even though it's not uncommon to happen, it's your baby, there's nothing more important than your kids!

  26. We had to do the same thing when my daughter was born. I wasn’t producing enough milk to flush out the jaundice.. she we had to take her to the ER and she spent two days in the nicu under lights. It’s the worst feeling. I stopped breast feeding and started giving formula because I was so afraid that I was starving her. Taking her home from the hospital for the second time was surreal.

  27. Aw poor little Luke. My little had to be under the billi lights literally the day she was born for the whole day and part of the next day it was so heart breaking because she wouldn’t stop crying she just wanted to be held. I hope he gets better.

  28. A big thing that helps with jaundice is sunlight, if your outside place him in the sun, if indoors open a curtain/blind and let the sun rays in on him.
