Latinas Try $50 Quinceañera Dresses From Amazon

– Oh my god, I’m so nervous. (screams) (laughter) (orchestral music) – Hello, Maya here. I have never had a quinceanera before. But it’s fine. (crying) Anyway, one time I did try
on a quinceanera dress, just for fun, and I felt like a princess. I was only in it for a second, because the lady at
the store was giving me major side-eye because
it was lot of monies. So I had to take it off. I want to see if I can
get that same feeling in a dress that I found
on Amazon for $50.00. So, I’m gonna investigate. Now, I can’t do this investigation alone. I need to employ others who
have actually had a quinceanera. (jazz music) – Maya, what are you doing, what? – [Maya] Oh, um, did you wanna try on $50.00 quinceanera dresses with me today? – Okay. – [Maya] Okay. Do you want to try on $50.00 quinceanera dresses with me today? – I would like nothing more. I thought you’d never ask. (orchestral music) (record scratch) – (laughs) What is this? (laughs) My theme for my quinces was Cinderella. There was this one dress
on the window sill, and it was this dress that
was beautiful light blue. – It was like oranges
and reds, and flowers, and splashes of color and spaghetti strap. – With roses on the side. – I loved that dress. – Probably came out to like $500.00? – I can’t imagine it was
more than $60.00 or $70.00. – [Maya] Do you think you
can get the same feeling in a $50.00 dress from Amazon? – I mean, I’m sure you can find some… $50.00 though? – My instinct says no. But that’s because I have
bought into this idea that nice things are expensive. But I don’t know if that’s true. (laughter) – This looks like a $50.00 dress. – Oh that’s pretty! Oh, that’s more floofy
than I would have expected from an Amazon. (gasping) – Am I gonna be Cinderella? – Uh, I think I need you
to come tie this for me. Now just the two ties put it on. Oh, what is this? – [Maya] You better watch out, ’cause Julissa is coming out! (orchestral music) (cash register) (shuffling) – [Observer] Wow! – (speaks in foreign language) (cash register) – Here I am. Mmm. (cash register) – You know what? It’s not that bad. – Sure, they’re a little, you know. You’re gonna little imperfections. So there are little things here and there. In a photo, you’re gonna look great! I think this is nice. – The material is a little cheap. You know what it is? It’s like, no matter
how much the dress is, it’s your confidence. – (sings in foreign language) – You know it’s not my style right now. But I think 15 year old Claudia? I think it’s really nice. – Get it girl, get it! Get it girl, get it! Get it, get it, get it,
get it, get it, girl! ♪I’m a quinceanera. ♪ ♪You’re not a quinceanera. ♪ ♪’Cause I am. ♪ Is that, can you see me in
that one ’cause I’m tall? – [Observer] Yeah. – Uh, I think this is successful. Quince in a bag. It’s not bad. I am impressed. I’m very impressed. – Listen, if you’re bottom on the budget, and you need this, do what you gotta do, man. – So the answer is yes, you can get the same feeling in a $50.00 dress that
you bought from Amazon, than you did in the maybe $500.00 dress that you tried on that you
had to quickly take off because the lady was looking at you weird. Thanks for watching! (orchestral music) (electronic beeps)

  1. 😂omg loved Julissa she super funny!! And ya i loved my 15 años omg best day EVER and i loved my blue dress it suuureee feels the queen in the party LOL

  2. My quince dress was $13.99at Ross and had a plain pale pink color, size 13. I was a size 5. Took it to a family friend who does alterations and she added pearls to it and brought it in a lot.
The alterations was a gift to us and the pearls were $2.99 at a craft store. I loved my quince dress. Nobody knew how we spent less than $20 on the dress. It was also the inspiration to my wedding day. My dress had pearls and rhinestones, pale pink tule skirt (that the same family friend did!).
My quince wasn’t so much a theme but there was pale pink roses and pearls EVERYWHERE! My wedding was also pink, had pale pink roses and I wore my husbands family pearls on my wedding day.

  4. Well in my country we don't do a party or at least the party is not that necessary, what we do is a professional photo section as if the girl was a model, my parents did not have much money back them (or today 😂)so I only got to take a few pictures not even an album, but I was ok with it, the first month everybody wants to see your quinceañera pictures and after that they become useless, all my pictures are around my house so everyone can see them. In the other hand God blessed be with something else, the people fron church organized a surprise birthday party for me, my family did not spend a penny on it, I didn't wear a princess dress but I felt so loved, I had the time of my life and even got A LOT of presents, literally I spent two hours opening presents after the party. I will always thank God for bringing me to this church.

  5. I wish I could've had a quinceanera, but I'm Caucasian 😭. I think it'd also be rude to their culture since I don't know why quince's are so special (other than coming of age, now a woman). I love how a quinceanera makes you feel special. Wether you want to be a princess, or a sleek sexy girl. It's an empowering day. Plus, I like the number 15 better than 16 😂😍

  6. My quince dress was beautiful, not what I wanted, but a gorgeous dress. Abuela payed for it, so she picked it, big and white so I could wear it when I got married.

  7. I didn't want a quince my mom is a single mom thats a lot of money she would have to spend and my uncles would have helped but there was a lot of shit going on during that time to I just didn't want my mom stressed at all. If there was a chance I would have asked for the money so I could use it for college it could have helped me now😭

  8. I would’ve loved to have a quinceañera pero I only had like 3 friends lmao so who was gonna go to the party 😂

  9. im 15 next month but my quince is in late july cuz i didn’t plan ahead but i still don’t know if i should have one it’s to much money

  10. I think the dresses are pretty! It really does not matter what the price tag says. If you like the dress and feel like a princess in it – that's all that matters 🙂

  11. I'm planning my quince and my dress is gonna be custom made so that's gonna be expensive but that's daddy's job

  12. my quince is in 6 months and 14 days (yes I'm counting the days) but I didnt want a quince since I was younger, but something in me at the end of last year told me that I should. So here I am waiting for the day to come:)

  13. I’m going to have my Quinceañera this may. I’m going dress shopping today and I’m looking for a darker red dress but I’m on a budget and I also need it to be modest. I’m so excited!!! I love pero like. Julissa cracks me up every-time. I can completely relate to Maya because I’m in the process of learning more about my language and culture. Claudia I love her hair I’ve had like 3 different pixie cuts in my life and I love them on her especially.

  14. JULISSA’S DRESS LOOKS LIKE MINE!!! And it was cheap to when I went to the Mercado y’know the Mexican Mall lol

  15. i legit had that same purple dress for my 18th (filipino debut) and i still cry everytime i see that dress.. it was just absolutely perfect 💜💜💜

fyi though, i bought mine for $149 and had it altered too, plus mum spent more than an hour ironing the whole thing hehe🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

  16. Maya is not even a true Latina……… like please stop acting like you are you don’t know spanish no hate in just saying….

  17. Claudia’s smile at 1:00 has me shook. Like she’s really been waiting for someone to offer her to try on quinceañera dresses 😂😂😂

  18. My step-grandma is Mexican and trying to force me to have a Quincea. I’m not Mexican. I’m scared to tell her the last thing I want is a Quincea

  19. I had a Sweet Sixteen, BUT it incorporated most of the traditional elements of a Quinceañera. There was the church ceremony, the changing of shoes (from flats to heels), I wore a ball gown and had like the equivalent of a wedding party with guys in tuxedos and gals in peach dresses that matched my white dress with peach flowers. After the ceremony, had pics taken like a wedding and then there was the reception (party). If I recall, it was a compromise between me and my parents. They really wanted me to have a traditional Quinceañera (they were from Puerto Rico) and I was born and raised in New York and I leaned more towards a Sweet Sixteen, so we did both (incorporate the Quinceañera elements into the Sweet Sixteen). At the end of the day, it was a memorable event for myself and family and we were happy with how it turned out. ☺️

  20. I got my quince dress from AliExpress and it cost me 200 but to be true it was worth it instead of paying pass 500 just for a dress u gonna wear once.

  21. Ive never had a quince because i havent reached the age of 15 im barely turning 12 in a few months

  22. I never had one cause was not interested and besides my mental health was not good at the time. But now regrent now having one since it's a part of my culture and people ahhhh

  23. If you live in la and you go to downtown to buy a quince dress those fucking bitches always have a bad attitude and stare at you bad

  24. Sew, in in this our Youtube imagination, are we taken to a place where we are somehow different, or better, than we are?

  25. For soooo long I NEVER wanted a quince. I thought it was a waste of money and frankly didn’t want it and wasn’t excited at all of the idea of having a quince. HOWEVER my parents still forced me and told me that if I still don’t like the idea after 1 months
then I don’t have to continue. So i tried it and although it was stressing, i decided to keep going. I’m sooo thankful I did because it’s probably the best day of my life. It was legit one of the greatest things that i ever went though and it was such a happy memory. All the stress, dances, frustrations i went through was worth it for that one night 😭💞
