HOW TO TIE A BOW TIE Step-By-Step The Easy Way, Slow, For Beginners – WORKS GUARANTEED

Welcome to the Gentleman’s Gazette! In this video, I’m going to show you
how to tie a bow tie – the easy way. [Captions by Mike Ridgway at YTranslator.com]
♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ Every man should be able
to tie his own bow tie. Only boys at prom wear
pre-tied bow ties or clip-on bow ties. You should never wear that. It shows, it’s too symmetrical,
it’s too perfect, and it looks cheap. Elegant men like Winston Churchill would always wear their bow tie
so it was slightly askew. That shows the true character
of a perfectly tied bow tie. It is not symmetrical. In recent years, bow ties
have become much more popular. This is the easiest way to tie it. There are many ways, but
let’s start with the simplest way. If you have an adjustable bow tie,
adjust it to the right length. Usually, you should choose the neck size
that you have for your shirt. But you can play around with it. If you go for a fixed length bow tie,
like the black bow ties from Fort Belvedere, then you don’t need to adjust anything. Once it’s adjusted, throw it around your neck,
flap down your collar, and button the top button. You may want to pull on the inside
so it looks neat. All right.
This is how you tie it. First, you want the left side of
your bow tie to be about an inch or one-and-a-half inches
longer than your right one. So, long end goes over short end. Pinch with your left hand. Now, the longer end goes up
through the hole and you pull it tight. Now, your right hand,
you leave your bow tie here. With your left hand,
you hold that end of the bow tie you bring your index finger
in between your body and the bow tie, and you move it over to create
a bow tie shape which you can see here. Now, with your right hand,
bring the other piece in – the longer piece –
and fold it over. Now it already looks like
a bow tie from the front. So, what I do now is I take this part of
the bow tie and hold it together like so. Now I switch my hands. And what I can see now is
I created a hole back here. And this is where
this part has to go through. Now, I create another bow tie shape here
and I do that with my fingers like so, fold it up, so I get
a shape similar to a bow tie, and I just push it through
that little hole we created. Now, I pull on the folded ends
so it tightens the knot of my bow tie, and there you go: the bow tie If you’re now interested in
quality silk bow ties, take a look at our shop where we offer
exclusive Fort Belvedere bow ties, in many different colors
and shapes and materials. [Captions by Mike Ridgway at YTranslator.com]

  1. this is definitely the best tutorial regarding the tying of a bow-tie. It's the easiest to follow. The Winston Churchill reference is prefect too.

  2. Winner.
I just watched several tutorials, none come close to the simplicity and efficiency we see here. Well-done and thank you.

  3. Who's here in 2018-2019 for this!? My third and final tutorial search 😣. I think I got it. Give a subscribe if you're into Fitness 👍.

  4. Suggestion: Why don't you flip the video horizontally? If you do that, when someone is following your instructions while looking in their own mirror, the video will have the same left/right aspect as the mirror; it will, in effect BE a mirror. That would make things much easier for the viewer to learn the muscle memory without having to think which is left and right.

  5. Very frustrating because the camera switches angles at the point that keeps confusing me, bringing the back end of the tie through the hoop. The only thing I end up with are tiered arms and sore biceps 😩

  6. Now that’s how you make a tutorial video. I watched countless videos, but none was this clear. Hence I got it on the first try.

  7. Wow this took so much longer than I'd like to admit to get right, but man was it worth the effort… Thank you so much for ankther great tutorial Sven

  8. Every time I try it I end up with the folded end and "diamiond" end not being in line with each other. So on one side it's the foled end in the front, and on the other it's the "diamond end" in the front. What am I doing wrong? I really don't understand

  9. Finally a short simple clear video. All the other top videos on youtube don't compare. This is the best. Thanks for teaching us!

  10. Thanks for this video. I have begun to wear bow ties after a long hiatus and I've forgotten how to do it correctly. I'd just like to add that I don't think it's a fashion faux pas to tie a bow tie in a perfect shape. Churchill probably didn't tie his bow tie perfectly because he was either in a rush or had already had a drink or two.

  11. Thank you so much I have spent hours trying to tie a bow tie I watched your video and did it in 8 trys. Thanks again☺

  12. Now i am wondering how i was ever confused by one, and now that i know, i am wondering how other men can possibly wear one often but be confounded by it.

  13. This is the third video I watched, and I've finally learned. Thank you! Should have started with your channel first.

  14. Are you plan budget and time for your wardrobe, like 1 shirt per month, $500 per month or just buy when you want?

  15. Cool. I bought a bunch of cool, funky bow ties at a charity event and never wore them. Time to pull those guys out of the drawer. Thanks

  16. Really helpful tutorial. Got my first bow tie done within a few minutes due to this clip. Nice work. Thank you very much.

  17. ugh, you bought your bowtie?! an adjustable one at that?? get out of here with that rubbish! any man who has an inch of self respect harvests the silk from his own silk worms and MAKES his own bowtie!

  18. A big thank you for this. I had spent several hours with other videos and diagrams and got nowhere. The thought that I could not tie a tie and would have to ask somebody to do it was devastating. I am at a stage where not being able to do something ordinary would be a morale killer. In fact many years ago i could tie a good bow tie without a mirror, but that skill had been long forgotten, and in a few instances since then I actually used a pre-tied bow with a neck strap. Being back in business thanks to you is far more important to me than it would seem to any rational person.

  19. Not joking, this is the video that works. Trust me. Follow his instructions to the word, (even though it's a left handed method)

  20. I was very offended with the intro because i a female was trying to tie my own bow tie, the heck man

  21. Ok…. so I saw 2 videos about this with way more views
1st talked too much & wasn’t clear on how to do it
2nd guy did it too fast
    You kept it simple short!
    And Super Easy👍🏻👌
    thank you!!!!

  22. Sir could u pls make a video how a gentleman should comb their hairs?it's really interesting to see most ppl opt for a backbrush technique but it would be very nice of u if u could demonstrate any other techniques

  23. And this is the EASY way to tie a Bow Tie… LOL!!
Yeah, I have a couple of "real" Bow Ties. I never wear them.
I have 3 very nice quality pre-tied Bow Ties that I wear with my Tuxedos. They look great. No qualms wearing them. However, when I have 2 or 3 weeks free sometime, I'll wear one of my "real" ones. : )
Just a note: You could "flip" the video when rendering, and it would come out like we were looking in a mirror. That way, someone could literally follow you while looking at the video.

  24. Thanks sir !! I was trying to knot my trousers but the way I was doing was not looking good then I saw this bow tie video and tied my trouser like this now it looks very well ..

  25. When I got my first bowties, some were pre-tied. I undid the stitches that held the knot in place and turned the pre-tied bowtie into a regular bowtie.

  26. Can I just say I LOVE THIS VIDEO!! I used this technique to fashion head bows for my baby daughter using stretchy material.. works a miracle! Thank you!!

  27. my first homecoming is in 2 days and this video helped so much, i’ve watched countless other videos but this is the only one that actually helped, thank you!

  28. Thanks! I spent several minutes in front of the mirror, swearing, because I hadn't tied a bow tie in quite some time and had forgotten how to do it. Went on youtube, found your video, BAM, bow tie tied. Thank you!
