DIY: Convert Old Saree Into Front Slit Dress\Kurti in 10 Minutes

hey guys welcome back to our Channel
today we are showing you how you can convert your old simple sari into a very
trendy which is very trendy these days that is front slit kurta this is a very
simple and easy DIY I you don’t have to put a lot of effort in it you can just
do it simply by this basic stitching and basic knowledge about stitching which we
are going to show you of course so before proceeding don’t forget to click
on that subscribe button to join our little family and also click on that
Bell pattern so that you get notified as soon as we upload a new video for this
you’re gonna need saree of your choice I’m taking this off white I know it’s a
bit dirty so yeah I’m gonna wash it later on then a white astharlining then a
t-shirt which fits you well now let’s start with the lining first
open it up and lay it flat on a surface and then fold it once then lay your
t-shirt on top of it now make sure there are no creases or wrinkles anywhere and
take your chalk and start marking the shoulders neck line arm holes and side
seams now for the armholes you can either fold the sleeves inside or just place
your finger at the armholes pick your shirt up and Mark underneath like I’m
doing here we’ll go so this is how it should look
like once done now the length now for the length of the upper part place your
measuring tape on the high point of the shoulder and Mark a point wherever you
want your top part to end and then join both the sites I took
about 50 17-inch here but later it turned out to be a little longer so I
later change it to the 15 inch now cut the pattern out leaving one inch seam
allowance now when you open it up you should have two pieces that is front and
back on monkeys just right back so that you
remember which part is back one going on to the second base since we
want our neckline to be a little deep in front we are just gonna mark a two-inch
line from the neckline and connect the endpoints of that line with the corners
of the neckline in round shape then to eliminate any unevenness fold the piece
into half by matching the shoulders and then cutting the neckline now write it
as front now take your saris one end out and then
pin it on to the one piece of lining make sure that it’s wrinkle free again
and then cut the same shape out now pinning it helps in keeping the shapes
even so that’s why you should do it now do the same thing for the second
piece and then do a straight stitch on the neckline as well as for the armhole
on both the pieces now once done it should look something
like this then make small cuts using a scissor on the armas as well as on the
neckline and then double fold it inside so that it looks neat do it on both
again understand it should look something like this and then place both
the pieces right sides together making sure the shoulders match and then stitch
the shoulders and the side seams together once done start making pleats
using the leftover sari starting from the center of the front
piece and moving towards the back and then come back again in front and cover
the remaining side as remaining side of the front piece as well now make sure
when you do this your top part fits you properly because after this you won’t be
able to alter it once the police are done it should look
something like this and it should have a front slit like this go straight stitch all over the pleats
to secure it and also hem the edges of the front slit and that’s it so that’s
it for tutorial guys we hope you liked it if you did then don’t forget to hit
